cracks vein the water’s surface
as winter’s binds dissolve

the recluse,
released from suspension

towards the spokes
of a mid-morning sun

of false security
behind her frozen wall

as a creature
much too fragile

to survive
the season’s thaw

    • Thanks for speaking up, Nan. This is an older poem I recently decluttered that related to the feeling I experienced after being taken off of an anti-depressant. It’s dear to me. I am glad you enjoyed it and its visual counterpart
