a paternal shade

moon father

oh, my sea lion son,
and clever deer light

what do you make of  speck
figment father?

comforts whispered from
confines of calm shade,
on warmest evenings

shimmer waves,
to shores mutual moon.

image, jumbled fade of
seizing pixels and
dead horse emojis

some days, welcomed
dad connecting,

others, old drifter

trapping washed out snapshots
when i pause the flashback

to free us three
in moonbeams.

a grumpy gift: Epithelial Layers

Reflections on Existence

i tend to an apprehensive string

wondering if i should let it be

while fingering patience

a ring that turns my finger green

and you see me from the inside

where the verdant digit glides

tracing the pattern of infinity

somewhere below a pleural sea

and the bellows that breathe

your name in a refrain

as love’s ecstasy reminds me

to keep my skin in the game

The Bleached Beach Door

beach bleached door

forgot to brave my shaky
toes outside,

rather, sunk slow lava
into arctic caves
hoping that

savior was sleeping somewhere
in this forbidden forest

then, his sagest face
flashed fast in storm
form of rock and
waves by blessed

beach breeze washed inch
of open light
under cellar door.

blue on you

blue guitar 1

treading sonic spread of
echo ocean spans and spaces,

‘tween scorched bridge
and raw-boat refrain

to reach brassy flats of
sharp, touchy tender

thrumming nerve of
chord, contained
